LOWER DIR: Three youth were killed and two others injured when a speeding car collided with a motorcycle in Tazagram area here on Thursday night, residents and the police said.

They said that the incident occurred at 12.30am when some friends were returning home after attending a function.

The police said that Fahad Khan from Thana area of Malakand, Hazrat Umar from Sheringal area of Upper Dir, and Azmat from Asbanr area of Adenzai here died on the spot.

A Rescue 1122 emergency team shifted the injured persons to Chakdara Hospital from where one of them was referred to a Swat hospital due to his critical condition.

The Ouch police registered a case and started further investigation.

Similarly, a man identified as Syed Nawab, 34, was killed and three others, including Sardar, 29, Fazal Wahab, 30, and Amir Zaman, 36, were injured in an armed clash between two groups in Mayar Bazaar here on Friday, residents and Rescue 1122 officials said.

They said the incident was related to an old enmity between the families of Malik Ayub Zarin and Malik Khan Badshah. They said the groups resorted to firing when they came across.

A Rescue 1122 medical team rushed to the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, three persons were injured when a car met with an accident in Siar Dara area in the jurisdiction of Khall police station here on Friday.

A man identified as Sultanat Khan, 55, was injured when he was hit by a motorcycle on Tarai Bypass here on Friday. The injured was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Timergara.
