ISLAMABAD, April 15: The government has prepared a ‘roadmap’ to implement its five-year Term Development Framework to establish a just and sustainable economic system in the country, says a government official.

“The aim is to improve the country’s low economic indicators, particularly relating to education, health and poverty sectors,” said planning commission deputy chairman Dr Akram Sheikh.

Talking to Dawn on Saturday, he said six major groups had been selected to implement the framework which also seeks to increasing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

These groups will be headed by former SBP governor Dr Ishrat Hussain, Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid, adviser to planning commission Dr A.R. Kamal, Science and Technology secretary Dr Pervez Butt, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics director Dr Nadeem ul Haq and Shoaib Sultan, a social sector expert.
