PESHAWAR, April 15: NWFP police chief Raffat Pasha has directed senior officials of his department to improve its intelligence network to curb terrorist and sabotage activities, says an official statement.
Mr Pasha was presiding over a high level meeting on law and order situation in the province at the Central Police Office here on Saturday.
Senior police officials from the special and investigation branches and regions including Hazara, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan, Peshawar and Swat attended the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, the provincial police officer (PPO) said that saboteurs and miscreants elements wanted to disturb peaceful atmosphere of the province.
He directed the participants of the meeting to adopt stringent security measures to eliminate terrorism and sabotage and come hard on miscreants with the best use of available resources and manpower.
The PPO directed them to regularly send him reports of action taken against unscrupulous elements and progress achieved in this connection.
Mr Pasha urged the police high-ups to keep close liaison with people and elected representatives and take prompt action on public complaints.
