ADBP in dire straits

KARACHI, Oct 16: ADBP found themselves in deep trouble after defending champions Pakistan Customs piled up 400 in their first innings on the second day of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I fixture at Sheikhupura Stadium Tuesday.

According to details available here, ADBP require a further 104 runs to avert the possibility of being followed-on, having struggled to 147 for five in their first innings.

Earlier, Customs added 161 more to their Monday’s score of 239 for six. The overnight pair, Azhar Shafiq and Aamir Iqbal, set the tone in rapid 85-run seventh-wicket partnership in 97 minutes.

All-rounder Azhar Shafiq continued his excellent form by scoring a solid 85 off 184 deliveries. The left-hander batted for 335 minutes.

Wicket-keeper Aamir Iqbal and Waqar Ahmed both made 29 each.
