KARACHI: Three men were killed in the metropolis in separate incidents, police said on Sunday.

A man was killed while two others were injured in the accident in Manghopir on Sunday afternoon.

According to Traffic DIG Ahmed Nawaz Cheema, two women and a man were riding a motorcycle while a truck was also traveling in the same direction. Suddenly their bike slipped, all three fell on the road and came under the wheels of the heavy vehicle. One woman suffered critical injuries while the man and other woman received minor injuries.

They were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced Mrs Zahida Qasim, 55, as dead, according to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson. The driver was arrested and the truck impounded.

A boy was killed while two others injured in an accident on Superhighway.

Gadap Town SHO Sarfraz Jatoi said that a family was travelling in a car which overturned near Bahria Town ostensibly due to reckless driving. As a result, Afzal Ali, 10, was killed while Khan Kamal, 32, and Rehmatullah, 18, were injured.
