SHANGLA: The Alpuri police have arrested a man on charges of allegedly killing his father in Karghanu Sar Manrai area, who had initially reported the death as a ‘suicide’.

According to the police, a body was brought to the district headquarters hospital on December 1. The deceased’s brother, Dawar Khan, told the investigating police officers that he had heard gunshots and immediately rushed to his brother Zarawar Khan’s house. Upon arrival, he found his brother’s dead body in a pool of blood. The deceased’s son, Bakht Zaman, claimed that his father had committed suicide.

After a thorough police investigation, it was discovered that the deceased had not committed suicide but had been shot dead by his son, Bakht Zaman, over a property dispute. He had attempted to portray the event as a suicide. Police are further investigating the crime.

SNOWFALL: Heavy snowfall was reported in the upper parts of Shangla, while the plain areas received rain, which turned the weather cold. After a three-day break, a new spell of snowfall and rain began with snowfall occurring in Spen Ghar, Ajmeer, Gamtal, Pir Khana, Lilownai mountains, Yakh Tangay, Kandaw, and Kapar Banda.

According to local residents, the heavy snowfall on the mountains, combined with cold winds sweeping across the district, forced local people to stay inside their houses.
