KARACHI, April 14: Administrative judge of the anti-terrorism courts in Karachi on Friday sent four employees of the former chief minister of Balochistan, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, to jail and directed the investigation officer to submit charge sheet against them on April 21 in army personnel hostage-taking case.

Nasarullah Mengal, Ghulam Hyder Langah alias Chappar, Mehboob Ali Satti and Ghulam Qadir, employees of Akhtar Mengal, were produced before the AJ Justice Khilji Arif Hussain of the Sindh High Court amid tight security.

Akhtar Mengal, who is also the chief of Balochistan National Party (Mengal) and other unidentified persons were declared absconding co-accused in the remand paper, submitted by the police before AJ.

Police alleged that Sardar Akhtar Mengal along with others kidnapped army Havaldar Qurban Hussain and Lance Naik Fayaz Ahmed from Darakhshan area, Karachi with intentions to kill them on April 5, when these army personnel were going to their intelligence duty.

The complainant of the case, Qurban Hussain, submitted in an FIR that they were made hostage at the house of Akhtar Mengal in Khayban-i-Shamsher area, DHA for two hours and were subjected to torture.

He said that Akhtar Mengal directed his men to kill them and send their bodies to the army.

However, the complainant said that they managed to flee after siege of the house by police and law enforcement agencies.—PPI
