CHARSADDA Awami National Party central president Aimal Wali Khan has said that he is against imposition of ban on any political and ideological party but Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf is a militant group so he is talking about banning it.

Talking to journalists here, he said that attacks on state installations and national property on May 9 and November 24 were clear proof that PTI was not a democratic and political party. He alleged that on both the occasions, PTI did something that even their enemy could not do.

Aimal Wali said that PTI was not thinking about the country and nation but it was focusing on an individual and there was a contradiction in its words and action. He said that for a single individual, PTI waged a war and attacked military, state and national installations and public properties and damaged them.

He said that situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa required the president and prime minister to immediately convene a joint session of Senate and National Assembly. He said that situation in the province was serious and if ignored it would get worse.

ANP district president Shakeel Bashir Khan Omarzai, general secretary Shahzaduddin, Prof Abdul Ghani Khan, Mohammad Ahmed Khan, Asad Khan, Gohar Ayub, Shah Zaman and others were also present on the occasion.

He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan had been turned into a battlefield for the last 50 years just to get US dollars and capture mineral resources here. He said that both the provinces were exposed to terrorism to receive dollars and seize control over gas, electricity, precious stones and other mineral resources.

About situation in Kurram tribal district, he said despite two or three attempts, the ANP jirga could not be held there owing to closure of roads. He said that about two to three times they tried to go there and resolve the problem in Parachinar, but could not go there as roads were closed.

He said that ANP delegation would also accompany Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor during his visit to Kurram. He said that provincial government was a compromised one and did not care about miseries of Pakhtuns and their children. He alleged that it was supporting militants instead of nation. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was not taking practical steps against terrorism.
