KARACHI, Oct 16: Wapda secured a vital first innings lead of 55 after PWD were bowled out for 231 on the second day of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I tie at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad Tuesday.
However, Wapda blotted a fine day’s work when opener Shoaib Khan was trapped LBW by left-arm pacer Ali Raza for one to leave on 11 for one at stumps, says a message here.
Earlier, all-rounders Bilal Asad and Riaz Shaikh were the only PWD batsmen to get past 20. Both scored half-centuries with Bilal hitting 91 of 163 balls in 248 minutes. Riaz hit exactly 50 off 101 balls in stay of 134 minutes.
Kashif Raza, who was last out for 64 after Wapda resumed at 280 for nine in their first innings, was the most successful bowler with a return of four for 55. Fellow paceman Faisal Irfan, Raees Amjad and the left-armer Kamran Hussain claimed two wickets apiece.
