Australia call up Bracken, Cullen

SYDNEY, April 12: Australia have called left-arm seamer Nathan Bracken and off-spinner Dan Cullen into their squad for the second Test against Bangladesh, Cricket Australia said in a statement on Tuesday.

Australia have a number of injury concerns, including leg-spinner Shane Warne.

“Our advice from team management in Bangladesh tells us there are one or two contingencies around player fitness that we may need to consider ahead of the second Test,” chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch said.

“Specifically, Shane Warne has some soreness in his shoulder which is being monitored as is the fitness of the bowling group who have had a heavy workload in recent weeks.”

Bracken has played five Tests and 36 One-day Internationals. Cullen, 22, has yet to make his international debut but enjoyed a successful domestic season with his state South Australia.—Reuters
