SUKKUR: Jacobabad police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested the third suspect wanted in the gang-rape of a pregnant woman in Mochi Basti late on Monday night.

Saddar police station’s SHO Saeed Ahmed Jumani said that an FIR on a complaint lodged by the victim’s family members had been registered against the suspects under Sections 375-A, 449, 2/506, 34 PPC. The two suspects were produced in the court of second civil judge, who remanded them in police custody for seven days, he said.

Jacobabad SSP Saddam Hussain Khaskheli said that samples of the suspects and the victim had been taken and sent to laboratory for DNA test.
