KARACHI: A dumper truck ran over and killed a motorcyclist in North Karachi on Monday, police said.

They said that following the accident, enraged people set the dumper on fire.

Central SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi identified the victim as Sufiyan Hafeez, 18, and said that the dumper hit his motorbike near Saima Blessing within the remit of the Bilal Colony police station.

He was critically injured and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The errant driver, identified as Fazal Wali Khan, was arrested, the SSP added.
