KARACHI, April 7: Two ships carrying containers and chemicals were berthed at QICT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday. Berth occupancy fell to 67 per cent as only six ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, chemicals and seeds. A cargo volume of 51,465 tons comprising 32,153 tons of import and 19,312 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was brisk as Mumbai Express, Germany, Star Dream and Chitral left the port. While four ships, Iran Borhan, Pleione, Anette Kosan and Nedllyd Muscat, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
