KARACHI: Three suspected militants, said to be associated with the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), were arrested in a raid in Sohrab Goth on Monday, police said.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) said that the held suspects were identified as Farhad Shahbaz, Haji Rehman and Mohammed Sagheer.

A CTD spokesperson said that the trio had allegedly murdered Constable Mohammed Yaseen and wounded Constable Salman Abbas in an armed attack in Sohrab Goth on June 3.

During interrogation, the held suspects revealed that they were given the task of attacking the police by the banned TTP.

The spokesperson said that the illicit weapons, which were recovered from them, were sent to the police’s forensic lab.
