QUETTA: Balochistan governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that everyone must reaffirm the commitment to combating all forms of terrorism, protecting the people and ensuring the safety of national highways through joint efforts.

Presiding over a meeting to review law and order situation in Zhob division on Wednesday, Mr Mandokhail stressed the need for all law-enforcement agencies to enhance their coordination as recent increase in terrorist incidents demands an immediate and decisive action.

Without eradicating unrest and extremism, he said, matters like development projects, trade, health, and educational activities in the province could not be ensured.

The governor said that for the sake of public welfare, concrete measures would be taken to address the threat of terrorism.

He said the government will ensure protection of Quetta-Zhob road and national highways for continuation of economic activities across the province.
