NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Two security personnel patrolling an area in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were martyred in an explosion, sources said on Tuesday.

According to the sources, the security forces were conducting routine patrolling in tehsil Gariyum of Razmak sub-division when an improvised explosive device went off near them.

The two personnel, Havaldar Zahid and Sepoy Shahid, were martyred in the IED blast.

While the bodies were later shifted to the Miramshah district headquarters hospital, the security forces launched a search operation in the locality to track down the perpetrators soon after the explosion.
