SHANGLA: A man killed his wife and step-mother over a family dispute in Kag Basi area of Alpuri tehsil here the other day.

A police official said on Thursday that accused Fazal Rehman had allegedly shot dead his step-mother Rabia Bibi at his home and went to house of his in laws and killed his wife Gul Badan, mother of a 15-year old daughter, and managed to escape from the scene. However, police are conducting raids to apprehend alleged accused of double murder case.

Police official said apparent motive behind the incident was the planned second marriage of the accused which was strongly opposed by the deceased.

The police lodged an FIR against the accused under section 302and began investigation.

MINER LAID TO REST: A coal miner who died in a coal mine incident in Dara Adamkhel town of Kohat region was laid to rest in Pagorai area of Alpuri.
