KARACHI, April 5: Berthing activity was slow as only one oil tanker, Warbah, to unload 50,212 tons of diesel oil was berthed during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday. Meanwhile, four more ships carrying containers, rice and seeds arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 56 per cent as five ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, diesel oil and seeds.

A cargo volume of 41,723 tons comprising 36,188 tons of import and 5,535 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Socotra and Samho Jewelry left the port while Indonesia Star and Warbah were likely to depart on Tuesday. Five ships, Indonesia Star, Mumbai Express, Asian Gyro, Star Dream and Amnok Gang, were awaiting for their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
