LAHORE: Claiming to have staged a “successful show of strength” at the Minar-e-Pakistan, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Lahore president Sheikh Imtiaz Mahmood says the party has decided to organise “flash protests” to show its presence in the city and adjoining districts.

PTI Lahore president said the party workers had been asked to stay peaceful and they would be informed about “flash protests” soon.

He said the party would not disclose time and venue of these protests and only release pictures, videos and detailed information of these events after holding protests in different parts of Lahore and adjoining districts.

He said the PTI central leadership had called all party formations in Islamabad except the leadership and workers from the Lahore division, who would continue staging protests and other political events.

Mr Mahmood said the police had registered fake FIRs against him containing identical statements, alleging that their text had been provided by “the powers that be”.

He also said the party has got some 800 workers released, who were detained before the Lahore power show from Model Town, Cantonemnt and outside civil courts on Sunday.
