SAHIWAL: Pakpattan police arrested a 35-year-old man for sexual abuse of a 14-year-old boy, administering sexual enhancement pills and intoxicants to him in Mohallah Pir Kariyain of Pakpattan city.

According to police, the suspect works as a Naib Qasid at Tehsil Court, Arifwala. The victim’s father is a daily wage labourer while his mother is a domestic worker. The suspect is their neighbour, residing in the same street.

The boy’s uncle informed police that on Sept 23, his nephew complained of severe pain in his kidney and genital organs and he was taken to hospital.

Dr Ahmed Raza, the head of the Urology Department, DHQ Hospital, Pakpattan, examined the boy and conducted X-rays and ultrasound tests. The reports indicated that the boy’s genital organ was malfunctioning while there was severe swelling in his kidneys due to drugs. Given the severity of the condition, the doctor referred the boy to the Sahiwal Teaching Hospital where he was given treatment for a week and was discharged on Oct 1 with three weeks of medication. The next day, the family reported the matter to the City Police Station. Police charged the suspect under various sections, including those related to sexual molestation.

Faisal Hussain, an assistant sub-inspector and head of the Special Sexual Offences Investigation Unit (SSOIU) in Pakpattan, was tasked with the probe. The boy told police that the suspect had taken him to his house on the pretext of filling a gas cylinder two months back. He locked the victim in a room, pulled out his pistol and forced him to perform sexual act with him while recording the incident on his mobile phone. He threatened the boy with posting the video on social media if he informed anyone about it. The abuse started from that day onwards.

The boy informed police that the suspect had been continuously blackmailing him and forcing him to take sexual enhancement drugs in the form of pills and injections. He said the suspect had a habit of engaging in sexual acts with other boys too.

ASI Hussain said the suspect was a married man and had a daughter. He told Dawn police had seized the suspect’s mobile phone, which had evidence of his sexual conversations with other boys too. Police are investigating to find other children who might have been victimised by him

District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Wallayat said the suspect was arrested and he confessed to his crimes. He said the suspect’s phone was sent for a forensic analysis.
