ARREST DEMANDED: A senior journalist has accused a nationalist party of providing protection to murderers of his son.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Saturday, Parwano Bhatti said his son, Gul Bhatti 35, had been shot dead at the Abdullah Centre in Qasimabad on July 28, 2004, in presence of many people.

He said the next day, he had filed an FIR at the Qasimabad police station against Mazhar Memon and Jan Mohammad Junejo.

He claimed that police and the administration knew whereabouts of Mazhar Memon but were not arresting him.

He said Mazhar Memon was being portrayed as a political leader though he had been disowned by the Pakistan People’s Party-SB and expelled by the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party many years ago.
