NAWABSHAH, March 30: The Anti-terrorism Court, Sukkur, sent to jail on judicial remand Sardarzada Sher Mohammad Rind and four others for possessing explosive material and illegal arms.

Sher Mohammad Rind, younger brother of federal minister Yar Mohammad Rind and his four guards were arrested near Qazi Ahmed on Tuesday night.

Police arrested Mr Sher Mohammad and the guards identified as Yar Mohammad Jatoi, Munir Ahmed Jatoi, Abdul Ghafoor Umrani and Din Mohammad, and registered six cases against them under section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance, section 3/5 of the Explosives Act and section 7 of the Anti-terrorism Act.

A spokesman for Mr Sher Mohammad condemned the arrest and said police arrested him after a powerful person in Islamabad had used his influence.
