TOBA TEK SINGH: A woman suffered burns after an unidentified motorcycle rider threw acid on her in the People’s Colony area on Friday.

Police have registered a case and are investigating to identify the attacker. The FIR stated Sadia Bibi, 27, was riding a motorcycle with her husband when the attacker sprayed acid on her. She was treated at Allied Hospital.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken notice of the incident and directed the Faisalabad RPO to ensure the immediate arrest of the culprit.

DRIVER: Two internee drivers, Ghulam Shabbir and Ashiq Hussain, remain missing, while the body of their fellow truck driver, Shahryar Mallah, was buried in Jhang after it was returned from Musakhel, Balochistan, on Thursday.

They were attacked by militants in Balochistan. On Friday, another truck driver’s body was also brought to Jhang and buried in the same village, Koorraywala.

Former Jhang District Council chairman Nawab Babar Ali told reporters that the body of Ijaz Hussain was in such a deteriorated state that it could not be identified visually. However, DNA testing confirmed the identity, and the government facilitated the transport of his body to Athara Hazari, Jhang.

ARRESTED: Khurrianwala police arrested two security guards of a garment factory on Friday for holding workers hostage and torturing them during a protest over unpaid salaries. Complainant Sonia Javed, stitching supervisor, said in her FIR that she and 20 other workers staged a protest outside the factory after owner Muhammad Anwaar refused to pay their Rs1 million salaries.
