KARACHI, March 30: Three ships to load and unload containers were berthed at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday. Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 44 per cent as only six ships were busy in loading and unloading containers and rice.

A cargo volume of 65,359 tons comprising 28,288 tons of import and 37,071 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Nedlloyd Muscat, Gallant Wave and Indonesia Star left the port while CMA CGM Nilgai and Islamabad were due to depart. Three ships, Dubai, Aegean Tiger and Chitral, were expected to take berths on Thursday.
