ISLAMABAD: In a significant move to strengthen business ties and enhance bilateral trade relations, the Indonesian Charge d’Affaires Rahmat Hindiarta hosted an exclusive Pre-CEO Summit dinner for Pakistani CEOs, business leaders, and their spouses at the Indonesian Embassy on Thursday.

The event was organised in collaboration with the CEO Club Pakistan and the World CEO Forum. The dinner served as a precursor to the much-anticipated CEO Summit Islamabad, scheduled for 5 September 2024 and the Trade Expo Indonesia, set for October 9 to 12.

This gathering of prominent Pakistani business representatives provided a unique opportunity to discuss key topics related to the upcoming summit and trade expo. The evening was designed as a platform for networking, collaboration, and the exploration of new avenues for economic cooperation between Indonesia and Pakistan.

In his remarks, Hindiarta emphasised the opportunities available for the Pakistani business community to participate in the Indonesia-South and Central Asia (INASCA) Business Forum 2024 and the Trade Expo Indonesia 2024. He underscored the potential for these events to yield fruitful outcomes for the benefit of both countries, highlighting the strong bilateral relations between Indonesia and Pakistan.

“Indonesia will proudly host the CEO Summit in Bali and warmly welcome the Pakistani business community in Jakarta and Bali. We will provide you with significant opportunities,” Hindiarta told the assembled Pakistani businessmen.

Among the guests was Mohammad Ali, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister with the status of Minister on Energy. He expressed his appreciation for the Indonesian Embassy’s initiative, stating, “I hope that this event will foster closer business-to-business relations and explore more opportunities between Indonesia and Pakistan.”

Ijaz Nisar, President and Founder of CEO Club Pakistan and World CEO Forum, announced plans for collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy and CEO Club Pakistan to host the CEO Summit in Bali as part of the World CEO Summit.

The event featured speeches from several guests, including Zahid Latif Khan, President of the CEO Club Islamabad Chapter, Sameer Piracha, Managing Director of Floret Commodities, and Sameer Hayat Mir, CEO of TM Rubber.

Attendees had the opportunity to engage with the Charge d’Affaires, embassy officials, industry leaders, and other influential figures in a setting that encouraged meaningful dialogue and the forging of stronger partnerships. The event underscored the strategic importance of the CEO Summit Islamabad and Trade Expo Indonesia in bolstering economic ties and creating new business opportunities between the two countries.

To complement the Balinese theme of the evening, guests were treated to traditional Balinese dishes, offering a taste of what awaits them at the upcoming CEO Summit in Bali.
