KASUR, March 27: Governor Khalid Maqbool held an open court in Chunian on Monday to hear public complaints. A large number of people filed complaints against Wapda, education, health, agriculture and PTCL. Most of the plaints were entertained on the spot.
A majority of the applications were against Wapda’s overbilling, excessive tripping and rude dealing of its staff. The governor was received by ministers, officials and scores of leaders and workers of the ruling party. Only four chairs had been placed on the stage — one for the governor, one for a minister of state, one for a provincial minister and another for an MPA while district nazim Rana Hayat who is from ARD was standing along the public.
Seeing him present among the people, the governor himself ordered a chair for him.
A disabled person was provided job on his application.
On the demand of MA students from Chunian boys and girls colleges, the governor spoke to the Punjab University vice-chancellor from his cellphone and asked him to grant provisional PU affiliation to master’s classes. He said students of the two colleges could now appear in annual MA exams in June next.
