LARKANA: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Larkana, on Saturday claimed to have arrested two suspected militants believed to be linked with the proscribed Sindh Liberation Army (SLA).

Explosives were seized from them, DSP Syed Asghar Shah of the Larkana CTD told a press conference in his office.

Giving details, he said a CTD team acting upon a tip-off about presence of some most-wanted militants near Seem Nullah within the jurisdiction of Mahota police station, carried out a raid and arrested Jamil Ahmed Shaikh, a resident of Dokri, and Salahuddain Jatoi, a resident of Mehrabpur village of Bakrani taluka.

Explosives with six detonators were seized from them, the DSP said, adding that an FIR (No. 05/2024) under Section 4/5 of the Explosives Act, and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act was registered against them.

They were produced in a court, which remanded them in police custody for six days, he said.

Speaking to Dawn, the senior police officer said that the suspects were wanted in a case pertaining to the throwing of explosives at the Haidery DSP office on May 29.
