Physicians for Human Rights Israel said the international community must “pressure” Israel to allow sick and wounded Palestinians to leave Gaza, where more than 14,000 people are in need of “urgent” medical evacuation, Al Jazeera reports.

The medical advocacy group said that 93,000 people have been injured in the Palestinian territory so far and that number is expected to rise further amid the “continued destruction of civilian infrastructure [and] healthcare facilities” and “the prevented entry of medical supplies [and] severe restrictions on access to health services”.

“Now, more than ever, the medical and international community must intervene to pressure Israel into allowing the evacuation of all sick and wounded patients in Gaza through every crossing,” the group said.
