HYDERABAD, March 27: The secretary-general of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Syed Munawar Hassan, has said that the followers of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) will never accept slavery of the United States.

He was speaking at the Shan-i-Mustafa rally at the Hyder chowk here on Sunday night.

The participants of the rally had come from Mirpurkhas in a procession.

He said that the only agenda of the US was international terrorism and massacre of the Muslims all over the world.

He said that the US had used thousands of tons of explosives in Afghanistan and Iraq but the Muslims were continuing their fight against the only superpower.

He regretted that the Muslim rulers were acting as agents and slaves of the US.

The MMA leader said that not a single uniformed Muslim ruler was supporting Muslim freedom fighters anywhere in the world.

Syed Munawar Hassan said that America was destined to suffer an ignominious defeat in Afghanistan and Iraq.

He said that the US dream to pit Shia, Sunni and Kurd Muslims against one another would never come true.

He said that in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, 700,000 Indian troops had unleashed a reign of terror against the Muslims but the Pakistani rulers were pleading for dialogue.

He said that the generals had withdrawn forces from eastern borders and deployed them on western borders to protect American forces.

He said that the government had time and again claimed that security forces were fighting against foreign terrorists but not a single body of a foreigner has so far been identified.

He said that time had come for the people of Pakistan to come out on the roads.

He said that the opposition had only one-point agenda— to remove the unconstitutional president and the army chief.

MNA Asadullah Bhutto said that the MMA was spokesman of the poor people and the Muslim Ummah and it would not tolerate any excesses against the poor.

He said that the nation had already rejected construction of Kalabagh dam and added that the rulers have given nothing to the people but price hike and unemployment.

Jamaat Sindh Amir Dr Mumtaz Memon said that Sindh was Babul Islam and it would not tolerate agents of Bush and Blair in the country.

He said that Shan-i-Mustafa rally had proved that the Pakistani nation would not rest at peace, unless those elements who were guilty of blasphemy were punished.

Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui, MNA Mohammad Hussain Mehnti, MPA Rehman Rajput, Nasrullah Shaji, Hameedullah Khan, Abdul Waheed Qureshi, Shaikh Shoukat Ali, Taj Mohammad Nahiyoon and Moazzam Naqi spoke on the occasion.

LUMHS: The additional controller of examinations of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences on Monday announced that theory programme of final professional MBBS (old course) bi-annual examination 2005 will be held from March 11 to 17 at the LUMHS Jamshoro centre.
