SOUTH WAZIRIS­TAN: A spldier was martyred and another injured when unidentified armed men attacked an FC check post in tehsil Birmal of South Waziristan district on Tuesday morning.

Officials said Lance Naik Numan was marty­r­ed while Havaldar Nabi­u­llah was injured in the exchange of fire with the attackers. “The attack was repulsed by the retaliatory action by the FC personnel,” they said.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed when unknown armed men riding a car opened fire on them in the Landi Doag area of Birmal on Monday. The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime.
