DADU: Two brothers and their two nephews were killed and 19 others, including women and children, were injured in a head-on collision between a car and a passenger van near Manjhand town on Friday.
Police and rescuers said that the accident occurred due to over-speeding on Indus Highway.
Residents of the nearby area rushed to the spot and carried out rescue work. They also transported the victims to the Manjhand Hospital.
Two of the deceased were identified as Syed Dinal Shah, 60, his brother Sarwar Shah, 57, and their nephews, Hameed Shah and Zainul Abedeen. They were residents of Jamshoro and had left their town for Keti Qadir Shah. The injured were later shifted to the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro.
Coach-trailer collision leaves four dead
A container-mounted long vehicle hit a passenger coach from back side leaving four persons dead and 10 others injured at Lonikot along M9 Motorway.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Sohail, 45, a resident of Karachi, Shaman Ali Kandhro, a resident of Larkana, Abdul Qayyum and Ali Nawaz.
The victims were taken to the Kotri Taluka Hospital and Nooriabad Trauma Centre. Many of the injured were later referred to the Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad. Four of the injured were said to be in critical condition.
