The Israeli forces started their air attacks and artillery shelling in eastern Khan Younis shortly after throwing their evacuation order leaflets, giving people no opportunity to follow the instructions, Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary reports.

The situation was already dire in the area where there is no source of water or electricity, she adds. People went back there recently to their destroyed houses after more than three months of Israeli military operations in the area.

Khoudary adds that Palestinians were trying to adapt to the massive destruction, fixing their houses, because there is no place for them to go to.

A week earlier, the Israeli forces attacked the al-Mawasi area in the west, so people went to the east, and now are asked to go back to the west even though it is not really a safe zone, she reports. The al-Mawasi area was targeted just a week ago.
