PESHAWAR, March 24: The National Accountability Bureau (Frontier) arrested Najmuddin Dar, a former land acquisition collector of Wapda, on the charge of corruption here on Friday.

The accused was produced before an accountability court presided over by Miftauddin Khan. The court remanded him into NAB custody for 15 days.

According to NAB the accused, hailing from Sheikho colony Gujranwala, was involved in misappropriation of public money by misusing his official authority while acquiring land for 132/220 KV grid station at Haryana Payan village here.

He is accused of causing loss to the national exchequer to the tune of over Rs11 million, which is a crime under the NAB Ordinance, 1999.
