KARACHI: The Sindh government on Friday announced that it would launch three new routes for the Peoples Bus Service and extend an existing route to improve public transport in the city.

The new routes will become operational from next week. It said that buses of Route 13 will ferry passengers from Tower to Hawkesbay and vice versa. Another route, EV 4, will provide connectivity between Bahria Town on M-9 motorway and Numaish via electric buses. It will start from July 24.

The third new route, Route 8, will connect Yousuf Goth and Tower and it will start from July 25. The transport department also announced the extension of Route No 12 to Memon Goth from July 23.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the new routes were part of the government’s efforts to enhance public transportation in Karachi and provide affordable, convenient, and comfortable travel facilities to citizens.
