Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, March 24: Berthing activity at the wharves on the Port was maintained on the higher side where a dozen ships were berthed to unload and load rice, naphtha and ethanol, according to KPT sources.

The vessels which were berthed included Trust Busan, Energy Falcon to load rice, Arun Khetarpal to load naphtha, Golden Jane to load ethanol, Hyundai Advance, Energy, QC Wisdom and Conti Harmony to unload and load containers, Med Carrara and Shong Yuanmen to unload steel cargo and Chem Jasmine to offload palm oil.

Sailing was also active as a dozen vessels also departed under the lead of MOL Asante, Kota Waris, APL Cairo, Energy, Satha Bum, Thor Captain, Hyundai Advance, New Vcca, Meriom Dream, Champion Pioneer, Chem Jasmine and Spirit-2, while Al-Arab, BBC Grace, Maersk Alabama, Trust Busan, Conti Harmony, Golden Jane and Banglar Mamata are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 0.181m tons comprising 75,867 tons of export cargo including 8,994 tons of rice and 0.105m tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Shiun Toku, with lube oil, Kota Tabah, Kota Jasa and Corin Thaikos, with containers.
