Nankana bus arrives today

LAHORE, March 23: The first Amritsar-Nankana Sahib bus will cross over Wagah from India carrying 30 passengers, including five officials, on Friday (today). It is learnt that the inaugural bus will be seen off by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. It will be received at Wagah by Religious Affairs Minister Ijazul Haq along with Punjab Tourism Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, district nazim Mian Amer Mahmood, Lahore DCO and tourism and transport secretaries.

The bus will directly go to Nankana Sahib. All the passengers will stay in the hostel of the gurdwara, while the five officials led by Indian Punjab Transport Minister Mohinder Singh will be brought back to Lahore by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation.

The PTDC has opened its office in a rented house, while the bus will be parked in the compound of the office of Nankana Sahib nazim.

The bus will return home after overnight stay on Saturday.

The Pakistan government will run its inaugural bus from Nankana Sahib on March 28. It will return on March 29.

The one-way fare for this service is Pakistani Rs1,200 and Indian Rs1,000.
