PESHAWAR: After flour mills in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the flour dealers also went on strike for an indefinite period, an official of the flour dealers’ association said here on Friday.

The dealers closed their shops after the strike call was made, the official said. He said that on one had there was a strike of the flour mills, and on the other, the flour supply from Punjab had also been stopped.

The official said that the strike of flour mills had led to closure of the business of flour dealers, forcing them to also go on strike.

The official demanded of the federal government to abolish the withholding tax imposed on the flour mills.
