Moin snatches match-winner

LAHORE, March 22: Moin Yaqub’s goal helped Punjab Police carve out 6-5 win against Garden Gas in the Punjab Police polo cup on Wednesday. Two goal handicap helped Garden Gas led the first chukker 3-2. Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana and Moin scored a goal each for the winners while Saqib Khan Khakwani reduced the margin for the losers.

The losers led 4-3 in the second chukker. Ahmad Nawaz scored his second for Police to restore the parity 3-3 but Ahmad Zubair regained the lead for Garden Gas scoring a field goal.

Two goals by Hissam Ali Hyder enabled Police to take 5-4 lead. Zubair’s second goal helped Garden Gas make it 5-5 in the fourth chukker. But Moin scored his second goal to seal the fate of the match.

Six-goal by Asif Tiwana enabled Candyland beat Guard Rice/Master Paints 7 1/2-6.

The winners had 1 1/2 goal handicap.
