GWADAR: A woman and her two children were killed and her brother injured in firing and bomb blast in Turbat area of Kech district on Monday.

According to police, the incident took place in the Kabbin area of Turbat town. Some unidentified armed men first opened fire on a house and injured Muhammad Ali.

Police rushed to the area and shifted the injured to a local hospital.

When family members of Mohammad Ali came out of their house to visit the hospital to inquire about the health of injured Mohammad Ali, a powerful bomb blast took place near their house, killing the woman on the spot and seriously injuring her two children.

Police shifted the body of the woman and her seriously injured two children to Turbat district hospital where the two children also died.

“Victims include a seven-year-old girl, her brother and the sister of the injured man,” a police officer told Dawn and identified the victims as Ayesha, Nazar Muhammad and Asia.

Police said no one has claimed responsibility for the bomb blast so far and further investigation was in progress.

Balochistan’s Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Mir Ziaullah Langove condemned the killing of children and a woman and sought reports about the incident from Mekran commissioner and Turbat deputy commissioner.

He said that targeting innocent children and women are extremely cowardly acts of terrorism.

“Those responsible for the killing of innocent people will soon be brought to justice,” Mr Langove said.
