SWABI: The police on Saturday arrested two persons for allegedly assaulting a girl near the boundary of Swabi with Haripur district.

A police official said that the victim was a close relative of the accused, who belonged to Haripur district.

He said an FIR was registered in the Utla police station against the accused, and the medical report also confirmed assault on the victim.

SHO Utla police station Jihad Khan said that the medical examination of the girl was conducted at the Bacha Khan Teaching Hospital, Shahmansoor. The victim had also recorded her statement in the magistrate’s court, and nominated both the accused in the case.

The police official said that the accused were identified as Itikhar Khan and Sirtaj Khan.
