SARGODHA: A young woman lost her life allegedly due to the negligence of a gynaecologist who preferred cesarean instead of a normal delivery in a private hospital on the Salam Road, Kot Momin.

The family held a protest against the hospital.

The family of the victim alleged that the doctor first did the wrong surgery and later asked them to take her to Sargodha, saying that her blood pressure was low. The woman died on way to Sargodha.

The family submitted an application to the Kot Momin police for registration of a case against the hospital management and the doctor who, according to them, was doing cesarean in every delivery case to mint money.

The family members demanded the Sargodha health CEO, health minister and the chief secretary take notice of the incident.

SHOT DEAD: A 50-year-old worker was shot dead by unidentified assailants in his house at night at Chak 14-SB near Bhalwal.

Javed Iqbal, a 50-year-old labourer, was shot dead while sleeping in his house. Bhalwal police shifted the body to hospital for a post-mortem and registered a case.

The deceased was father of three sons and a daughter.

SENTENCED: Additional Sessions Judge Malik Nisar Ahmed, while pronouncing the verdict in the drug case, sentenced a drug dealer to nine years imprisonment and imposed Rs80,000 fine on him.

Jalal Aslam was arrested by Jhal Chakian police last year when he was trying to smuggle 1,085 grams of hashish for sale in Sargodha.
