A UN official has voiced concern over the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and called on Israel to allow aid delivery, Anadolu Agency reports.
“Humanitarian operations in Gaza must be fully facilitated and all impediments must be lifted,” deputy spokesman Farhan Haq told reporters. He stressed that access constraints continue to “severely undermine” the delivery of humanitarian assistance and services across Gaza.
He added that between June 1-18, of the 61 coordinated humanitarian assistance missions to northern Gaza, 28 were facilitated by Israeli authorities, eight were denied access, 16 were impeded, and nine were cancelled due to logistical, operational or security reasons.
