KOHAT: Two youth belonging to Karak district drowned in Tanda Dam Lake while bathing here on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 soon after receiving information started a search operation and retrieved the bodies after three hours of struggle.

The deceased were identified as Uzair and Farrukh, whose bodies were taken to KDA Teaching Hospital.

Meanwhile, 16 swimmers were arrested from the Tanda Dam Lake for violating ban on swimming and bathing.

They were locked up in the Riaz Mouhammad Shaheed police station after registration of cases.

SHOT DEAD: A teenage boy was killed in Tora Stana Shadipur of Gumbat tehsil over his refusal to return a gun borrowed from his cousin.

The police said that the incident took place on Tuesday when Fazal Naeem, 17, demanded his gun back from his cousin, Bahadur Shah, which he had lent him sometime back.

They said Bahadur refused to do so, and the two got involved into an argument. Afterwards, they said Bahadur pulled a pistol and shot Naeem several times, which resulted into his instant death.

The body was taken to a hospital, where after postmortem it was handed over to relatives.

The police registered a murder case under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of a brother of the deceased against Bahadur, who fled after committing the murder.
