Hajjeh, a Palestinian displaced since the Nakba of 1948, has said that she has “never seen such devastation” as in the ongoing Israeli military operation in Gaza.
The UN agency UNRWA quoted Hajjeh as saying: “I have reached the age of 88 and have never seen such devastation.”
“We lived in a school that was bombed many times. We experienced all forms of suffering, fatigue, and fear.”
