Isaac Herzog, Israel’s president, says he has met with US special adviser Amos Hochstein, as the official visits Israel, Al Jazeera reports.
Herzog said in a post on X that the pair discussed the “incessant attacks” by Hezbollah in the country’s settlements in the north and the “urgent need to restore security” at the northern border.
“I also emphasized to him the urgency and the need to bring about the release of the abductees … I clarified that this is the key to [solving] the issues at hand,” Herzog added.
