Education to women must

SARGODHA, Oct 16: Education to women is vital to ensure their due respect and status in society.

This was stated by district Nazim Amjad Ali Noon at a seminar on “role of girl guides in implementation of convention on the elimination of all forms of discriminations against women”.

The Nazim said strenuous efforts were required to provide shelter to women. The government was determined to promote female education, he said.

The Nazim was all praise for girl guides for creating awareness among girls regarding their legitimate rights.

Girl guides commissioner Miss Nasira Kamal, Mrs Qaisra Ismail, Sadia Malik and Sughra Alam also spoke on the occasion.

Later prizes were distributed among students and girl guides for their remarkable performance.

SAVED: Pakistan Muslim Students Federation senior vice-president Zil-i-Subhan was caught trying to set himself ablaze here on Tuesday.

He was reportedly making an attempt to end his life to show resentment over US strikes against Afghanistan.
