QUETTA: A police head constable was gunned down by unknown armed men in the Nawan Killi area of the provincial capital on Thursday.

According to police, the armed men raiding motorbikes targeted the police official when he was passing through the bypass area. He received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot.

Following the incident, police rushed to the site and shifted the body to Civil Hospital. He was identified as Ziaur Rehman. The body was later handed over to his family after completing medico-legal formalities. He was posted at the Jinnah Town police station.

It was the third killing of police personnel by unknown armed men this month, with no one claiming responsibility.
