During a visit to Israel, actor Michael Douglas lashed out at pro-Palestinian protesters on US university campuses, claiming that many of the student activists had been exposed to “brainwashing”, Al Jazeera reports quoting the Associated Press news agency.

“When you try to talk to many of them, there is no education. There’s no knowledge,” said Douglas, 79, who is the latest in a string of US celebrities and politicians who have visited Israel and toured the southern area of the country where the October 7 attacks took place.

Douglas also met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who presented the actor with an Israeli military dog tag necklace and a yellow ribbon pin — a symbol of solidarity with Israeli captives in Gaza.
