RAWALPINDI: A university student drowned in Angoori Dam on Sunday, emergency services said.

Abdul Moiz, 24, a student of Quaid-i-Azam University, and his friends were picnicking on the bank of the dam when they started bathing in the waters despite none of them knowing how to swim.

One of his friends in his video message said they tried to rescue Moiz and also went into the water but they could not save him.

Later, the divers of emergency services recovered the body and handed it over to his relatives. The victim belonged to Lahore.
