SUKKUR, March 16: The Sindh government has constituted six-member district level committees to monitor the bird flu situation in the province. The committees would comprise DCOs as conveners and EDOs of agriculture, health and livestock departments, district officer of the poultry department and a representative of the wildlife department as members, said a press statement issued here on Thursday.
The committees will prepare plans to check if there were any cases of bird flu, submit samples for tests, advise farmers about bio-security measures and take action in case of outbreak of the disease. It will report to the poultry department and seek advice for further action.
SCHEMES: The district government has allocated Rs4.135 million for carrying out four development schemes of buildings and health sectors, said an official statement.
An Rs1.350 million has been earmarked for a green belt near the Military Road, Rs.50 million for a footpath at the Beri Chowk in Rohri and Rs2.435 million for renovation of a nursing school and its hostel at the Sukkur Civil Hospital.
